Editing Blog

For my music video I went about my editing process on imovie. It is available on ios. Imovie can be worked with from apple devices such as an iphone and a macbook. I chose to use my phone for the filming process as well as a Nikon 7000 that was lent to me for a short time. I was very impressed with the quality. At first I had no idea how to use it since I was never taught how to. This is why for some of my shots in darker lighting the quality isn't superb since I used my phone and didn't know the camera controls yet. However, as my time on the trip went on I was able to grasp the controls and learned I needed an SD card which I went out and bought. Until the battery died I used the Nikon camera. I knew I had a phone to shoot with but there was no way I'd give up the opportunity to use a higher quality camera. I'm glad I got the opportunity to use it and it has peaked my interests in filming. As for using my iphone,  I felt this would also be the better option since I was already familiar with  the features available to me on my phone as opposed to using school equipment. There was a lower chance of technical difficulties this way and thus eliminating any sort of delays I may have had. There was also no liability that I was responsible for because the equipment was mine and from a close friend so I was less restricted on what I could do throughout the filming process. Therefore I could take more experimental and riskier shots. I began my editing process by importing all the video footage from my camera roll into the program. I took multiple shots of different scenes and took them with a variety of lengths to assure I had a good selection of footage to choose from. Before hand I made sure to clear my camera roll and to import my personal photos and videos into my google photos so that during filming I would not experience issues with storage. Prior to editing I looked through all of my footage and deleted all the shots I was sure I did not want or felt would fit very well into the music video. I also trimmed them down to my desired length to fit best with the timing and pacing of the music. Taking these prior steps made the editing process much easier as I was already knowledgeable of what shots to important and I wouldn't have to focus on deleting the shots while in the program. Especially in my case since I took probably close to over 100 shots. Some of them were for my own pleasure and that I knew could potentially be added in while some were definitely apart of my outline for the video from the beginning. Next I listened to my chosen song a couple times to understand the timing and to get an idea of how I could best work it into my video along with the idea I already was set on. I began by putting the wide shots and establishing shots first to set the locations and set a mood for the video. I had to trim down some shots and even slowed some of them down for a more dramatic effect. I also got some free overlays from youtube and was able to place them over my video for a vintage feel. They were reminiscent of old school film. I felt like they would be able to give my video a sort of nostalgic feel. Through the program I also took filters into consideration. I choose filters that would be bold in color and have a lot of contrast. One of the features that greatly helped me achieve these effects was the features present on my camera app. I was able to experiment with the lighting and create contrast between the light and the shadows. I think this too was helpful in creating the sort of mood I was going for.

Story boarding- Music video

For next project I have completed a story board. The story board will present me with an outline of how to go about the filming process. It is good to go into filming with a clear idea of what you'd like to do because that will save you a lot of time. For my story board I included 2 pages of planning.
For the beginning shots they will start at the roller rink. I will using various expressive and intriguing shots. Some shots will consist of tilts, zooms and closeups to set a dramatic atmosphere. I will also be using larger shots such as three shots, points of view and high angles to create a clearer picture of the setting and what is going on during the scene. I included this in my storyboard along with their corresponding locations.
My first slide consist of me looking out the car window in broad daylight. This will be the transition to the next three slides. These next three slides are apart of the roller rink scene. They consist of zoom tilts and closeups on actors and props. They help to establish the energy and mood of the scene.
The next two slides consist of card. A parking lot and us leaving the parking lot. The parking lot scene will consist of eye level, birds eye view, and POV of us talking and hanging out. Then the camera will cut to a shot of the tires on our car slowly speeding away with a low angle. This is our transition to the next location.
The following three slides are us at the beach. This will consist of closeups, pans as we will be active and running and eye level shots for it to feel more personal and genuine. The shots and angles are meant for the reader to feel like they know us personally and are up close and following us along our activéis.
Then there will be another transition shot on the tenth slide showing a POV shot as the camera will be observing the city and all the cars in the street. It will make the viewer feel as if though they are experiencing all the bright lights and city sounds we are even though there is music in place.
The last two slides show us in nature at a park. There will be fields of plants and trees. These scenes consist of wide shots and three shots of us to allow the viewer to take everything in. They must take in the people as well as the vast background.
My actors will consist of me and my friends Arie, Sophia, Skyler and Linda. They are going to be the ones acting in the majority of the scenes. My story board discusses the different lighting within each of the settings. Time when filming will vary so lighting so as a result so will lighting. In a place like a roller rink the lighting will be dim and bright fluorescent lights will take over the atmosphere. This will go hand in hand with my mood and theme which celebrates a carefree and fun lifestyle.  I want my video to show how doing things with people you care about are the best times you will have and that you will remember. In a place such as an ice rink though the contrast will be very great compared to the dimly lit skating rink. The bright, almost blinding sheet of ice presents the viewer with nice and interesting visuals. Costumes will maintain a colorful and casual demeanor but will vary depending on weather and location. For example in Orlando it will most like be ranging anywhere from 60°-70º degrees so I’d probably have to wear something that provides me more coverage and warmth. However in locations that will be outdoor when it is sunny will be lighter and more suitable for the warmer weather. As far as makeup gos on me it will be bold while my other actors may choose to pertain a natural look as long as there clothing speaks fun. Props will include food, car and objects that pertain to the actives that will be taking place such as rolled skates and ice skates.

Planning- Music Video

Location- Much of the film music will be filmed locally here in Fort Lauderdale. However at some point later this month I will be going to Orlando and will be taking the opportunity to film at various locations. I will try to include different parts of Miami as well. The music video is visually oriented so I want to include many different settings and activities to keep the viewer engaged for what’s to happen next. Local locations will include Galaxy Skate Way, Glaciers Ice and Snow Arena, Tree tops park, Fort Lauderdale beach. I am not entirely sure as to what locations I will take up in Orlando but I do plan on filming at downtown Disney and other local sights. I know people at Glaciers so I will be more than likely able to film there. All sorts of people also film their children without permission so there probably won’t be any trouble doing so with permission.
Health Safety- For the safety of myself and our actors much of all our activities will be monitored by some variant of staff in private locations. There will also be a fair amount of adult supervision in giant, busy and overcrowded places.  We want to go ice skating and roller skating and the ones responsible for our safety at that point is management. We will be taking my car so there is no need to double check a taxi or uber driver. If we go skating and get hurt in any way the rink staff have first aid safety kits available as well as ice packs for hard falls.
Props- One of the significant props in my music video will be my car. It will make some sort of appearance as well be our mode of transportation for the duration of the filming process. Food will also be a prop. It will be a necessary entity to bring the visual appeal to the viewer.
Costumes- Costumes will be bright and bold clothing and accessories. The whole point of the music video is to demonstrate a carefree and fun attitude. Using colorful clothing assorted in all sorts of ways demonstrates the free spirited mind of young people.
Schedule 11/18-12/9
From 11/18 to 11/24 I will be present in Fort Lauderdale filming in local attractions and venues. By 11/25 I will have been gone to Orlando and will stay present there until 11/29 making time present to film. When I return the 29th I will work up from then til the 8th of December to complete all my filming. By the 9th of December I plan to have already collected all my footage and to be near the completion of editing and the final result.

Music Video Project

Intro to the new project: We have completed our commercial project last week. Our commercial project was an overall success. We got in turned in on time and the storyboarding beforehand really helped to outline our visions.  The malfunctions of school technology was the downside to our commercial because it wasted more time. The computers in our classroom stopped working and we had to switch platforms. We ended up having to use our iPhones and distributing our product onto google drive. Collaboration of each other’s ideas went well. Each group member was able to contribute and improve/build upon each other’s ideas. As opposed to last time, this time I will be working alone due to having to film outside of the schools campus. I find it easier to work alone, especially compared to working with people you don’t interact with outside of school. If you work alone you have the option to have family and friends whom you see everyday to participate. Working with classmates however, involves a lot of planning and there tends to be more complications. You all have to meet at the same place at the same time and not everyone is always in time. I am going to Orlando later this month so I may use that as a filming location. I will also try to get my friends who I hang out often with to join me in my project and we will film at as many interesting places as we can find. I will be using my own equipment to complete this project so it is expected that there will be minimal difficulty since I will have experience working it.
Song:  I will be doing my music video to Froth’s- Lost my mind
I chose this song because of its functionality and it’s ability to have various themes and ideas. The lyrics are not heavily emphasized so there is a lack of strong emotion and therefore more broader and easier to work with.
Conventions: Conventions for music videos include natural scenery, entertainment facilities (such as roller rinks and carnivals), highways, beaches and tourist locations.
Genre: My genre is alternative/indie rock music.
My music video will retain a fast paced and energetic visuals as well as tame and relaxed. Indie/Alternative rock music videos tend to stray away from typical mainstream conventions. They tend to be more bold and wildly creative with atypical visuals and themes. Therefore, I will include several different shots and angles. I plan to include a lot of wide shots to showcase the different settings and scenery’s of my music video similar to others of this genre. To keep up with the fast pace  I will include different pan movements to follow the actors in my video.
Mis-en-scène for my alternative videos typically is very broad.
Costumes for my video will be will be  colorful and casual. I want my visuals to be bold and fun. Style may consist of retro inspiration. I want my actors to look normal yet have them stand out from most everyday people.
The video will consist of natural lighting and artificial lighting. The video is meant to be fun and carefree so there may be segments which cover colored lighting or dark lighting indoors.
I will be the only actor of my class in the video. I will however use friends outside of the classroom to participate in my video and help set the atmosphere.
Makeup will likely be bold and colorful. It will help to create this sense of an unrealistic world where everyone and everything is bold and cheery. I want the overall mood to be happy and don’t want to target other emotions.
Props will probably include ice skates and roller skates since I think those would be good locations for my music video. I will be using a car to possibly get shots outside the window or shots of the car moving from the outside. A car will also be the main mode of transportation for our actors. Food may possibly be another factor of our projects as I may have a scene with the actors eating and having a good time.
Settings will vary. I definitely know I want to include some form of skating in my video. Me and one of my friends has the capability to ice skate. With my other friends I may do a scene while roller skating. I want to also film in the middle of a field or in some sort of nature. A highway may also possibly be a setting if we film from the inside of the car. These variation of location will emphasize the fun mood of the song.

Final Editing Blog

Today we began editing some of our commercial. Again we have experienced technical issues with the computers. The laptops available were also low on battery. Thus we only got the opportunity to edit for at least half of class. Difficulty with the computers seems to be a reoccurring issue for us. It had already occurred in previous classes. The program we started editing on was called pinnacle studios. We started off by picking from the footage we had taken when filming. We had a good amount to go through as we had a lot of footage. We kept the best shots and cut the average or not so good ones.

Then we started placing the shots together. We decided to go about this by the way order in which we filmed. My segment of the commercial was first. We put different shots of my shoes in the commercial to really enhance and engage the audience visually. Our commercial was supposed to be around 30 seconds. We are not done merging our footage together so the final product may be slightly longer or shorter than 30 seconds. We also were trying out different transitions. In between every scene we used transitions such as dissolve to distinguish between them. The transitions will help the audience to focus on one article of clothes at a time. It will help our commercial to function smoothly.

Our commercial is a more visually focused one. We are showing off our attire and as a result it lacks in dialogue. We will replace the lack of dialogue with sound. We used some of our time today to look for some free to use sounds on the internet. It is important to find the right sound that fits the commercial and that holds the attention of your audience. We have selected options from many websites and plan on choosing one the next time we edit. We were going for a clean and smooth sound as apposed to something overly fun and energetic. The sound shouldn’t distract from the point of the video. With not a lot of time we plan on adding our sound next class as well as finalizing the commercial together. If we continue to have technical problems we plan on switching platforms to iMovie.

Editing the commercial

Today our group started the editing process for the footage we gathered last Thursday. To edit our footage together we used pinnacle studios 18. This footage is called raw footage because no changes have been made to bring it  together. Through the process of editing we are able to make our commercial come to life and really. Last Thursday one of our group members had supposedly dumped the footage. To dump you must make an extra folder on your desktop and then move your recorded footage from the SD card to the folder. This is what should have occurred but something had malfunctioned in the process. When we went to go check up on our footage to prepare it for editing it had disappeared. The computers are not in the best of shape. It could have been a malfunction with the computer or a mistake with how our group member dumped.

Either way though our teacher came over and helped us to retrieve our  footage. Although we could not find the footage on the computer it was still possible to get it back. We had gotten our same SD card and dumped again to get our footage back. Then we had to save our footage to our Google Drive accounts for the safety of our assignment. Work on the computers tends to be easily be wiped or lost so its much safer to back up your footage somewhere else just in case. This can be due to the interference of other students or something wrong with the computer itself. We had the option between saving it on a flash drive or google drive. We decided on Google Drive that way everyone could have access to it. Also because no one in our group had an extra flash drive. There is also always the chance that the flash drive can be easily lost since its so small and only one person would have it.

After all our footage was secure then we were able to open up Pinnacle Studios 18. To begin editing we first had to import our footage. To import you begin by making an empty folder. Then you highlight all of your files and drag them across into that folder. To begin we had to highlight all  our takes. We placed them at the box at the bottom of Pinnacle Studios. When we were filming we were sure to take a lot of extra shots so we'd have plenty of footage to work with. If there was a shot we didn't like we'd have a variety to choose from as the alternate for the final product. So we begin cutting out the footage we would not include in our commercial. To delete footage we had to click on the razor symbol slightly above. We then started on placing our footage in order. Next class we will continue making cuts and working on order as well as selecting and placing our audio.

Filming

Today was our filming day for my group. We were shooting our Nike commercial outside to capture the sporty essence of the brand we were representing. Our first spot was on the baseball field. This is where my part of the commercial was going to be shot. We each had to bring in an article of Nike attire. Mine were my Nike Airforce 1's which are a popular and iconic shoe from Nike. At first according to our storyboard we were supposed to film on the track but since there were already some people there and there was nice lighting on the baseball field we decided to switch it up. Since I was representing the shoes my group took multiple shots of me. There was probably the most shots of me because my group members kept trying different angles. They had shot me running and walking in different directions. Another group then came to where we were and got in our shot so we ended up moving our spot a little further down where there was nice lighting and I did the same things again. At the end I stood in place doing different positions with my feet to show off the Nike logo. I held the camera bag through out the filming process.

Then I helped to act in another scene. It was my group members part of the commercial to be shot. We had to focus on her shirt. This scene was shot in by the cafeteria. I suggested to the director where he should film which was the big set of stairs and that's where we filmed. From that we were able to get  good high angle. I played another character who was conversating with the girl wearing a Nike shirt. They took a few shots of us and then we finished up our last few scenes. I helped to capture better footage by suggesting to the members what different things to try by watching the footage being filmed through the camera. That way we will have a variety of footage to select from. I think its good to have a variety because sometimes your initial plan can be changed to have improvements.

Lastly I acted at the end. We all did a wide shot with all of the group members playing as the actors. We did this in the senior patio. We tried standing and then we tried sitting down at one of the tables. I sat in the front with my feet turned so the Nike logo could be visible to the camera. We took a couple of these shot and our director would leave the camera on the tripod and make his way to be in the shot and then I knew to be ready for the shot. I acted the most out of our group since I was in three different scenes but one of them might not be used since we tried other alternative shots and camera angles without me in it. I enjoyed giving our director pointers and acting. It was an enjoyable experience.

Storyboarding

First Scene-
During this scene we will be filming the Nike shoes, specifically White Air-forces, for the commercial. The shot will be an extreme close up, and will be tracking the subject. The location for the shot is on the track as well. We wanted to include an aspect of athletics since Nike is mostly athletic apparel.

Second Scene-
The next scene we wanted to include for our commercial is someone walking with Nike shorts. The location for the scene is on the patio outside of the media center, as we wanted to create a social setting. Casual clothing is another major part of Nike’s brand and we wanted to make sure to incorporate that into our commercial. This shot is going to be a medium long shot.

Third Scene-
The third scene we wanted to include in our commercial was someone outside of the cafeteria at our school in a Nike shirt. This would be a medium shot.

Fourth Scene-
The fourth scene will be an actor going up the stairs with a Nike backpack. This scene will include a low angle wide shot. We specifically choose to include a backpack as most kids need one for school and we would be filming at our school.

Fifth Scene-
The fifth scene for our commercial will be all of the Nike apparel combined into once scene. This scene will take place on the senior patio and will include a tilt and will be a wide shot. We want to include every actor, the setting, and the Nike apparel all in this one scene.

Sixth Scene-
The sixth scene will be a black background with a Nike logo. Then a slogan such as “Just do it” or “Preparing student for education and athletics” will fade in.

*Each scene will last about 5 seconds and will have music in the background

Editing Lesson Blog

Last class we went over editing and the policy for our film equipment. I am excited to be able to try using a real film camera since I have never had one in my possession. First however we had to make sure to fill out the equipment contract which makes us liable in case of any damage we may cause to it. We are also responsible to keep track of our equipment and which numbers we use each time. We have the option to sign out an SD card or purchase our own to help make the editing process easier and more direct. The class was shown other way to import our takes to assure we do not lose our footage which is useful since there are bound to be mistakes made in the production of a film. Our teacher demonstrated us on how to properly turn on the camera and the location of the charging port.We were also shown the location of the SD card and how to insert it. Proper use of the tripod was also shown to us. We had to extend the legs by the clip. To attach the camera to the tripod you have to take a little platform off the top of it then snap it on the actual tripod. It can get taller by twisting a knob on the side of it to get higher angle shots.

The editing process was also demonstrated to us. The footage that we edit is called raw footage because their hasn't been any changes made to it yet. To edit our footage throughout the year we will be using a program called Pinnacle Studios. We have to be sure to make an extra folder on our desktop and then carefully move our footage from the SD card to the folder. The movement of footage from the camera to the computer is called dumping. It is very important to move the footage out of the SD cards because someone else who may get a hold of the camera you used last time can possibly delete it by mistake which would slow the film process down as you'd have to makeup for the footage you've lost. If there is an issue finding footage on the regular files then you have to switch it to the private files. It's AVCHD then stream. When wanting to put all of your files into one folder you simply drag the mouse across all the files and drag them into that folder. Importing is moving footage from the desktop to Pinnacle Pro.

Once all importation and dumping of footage is complete the editing process can begin. When we want to start editing we highlight all of the takes and place them in the box at the bottom in pinnacle studios. When we want to delete a part of the take we click the razor blade slightly above, highlight the scene, then click delete. This can be used in instances such as if you were filming a take and someone got into the background of the scene towards the end. You can use this process to cut them out and improve your footage. If there was a mistake made in the editing process, at the top left hand corner there is an undo bottom which will undo your previous actions in order. To add text over the take you would click the "T" while the text is in the top layer of the box on the bottom then type what you wanted to insert. After you  do so you would drag the text on top of the scene that is to be shown and play the scene. To emphasize the text or manipulate in a way specific to the scene you can edit the motion of text which is how it would enter the scene through different actions. If there is a mistake with the audio in a scene you can detach the audio and then delete it. To insert music you would have to change it to an MP3 in order to get it into format for Pinnacle Pro. All the information that was covered in class will help us significantly to have a smooth filming process and to produce work to the best of our ability.

Planning

As we have previously learned planning is an important part of the film making industry and process. Today we learned we would be planning our commercial for example the costumes, scenes, settings, and schedule. It is important that we commercial so that we can save time. Working out our shots and scenes in advance will ensure we are able to get everything done the day we have to film. Planning can also save money. For the commercial we need some props and filming equipment, which if we plan out what we need, will save time. Lastly, planning the scenes out won’t cause confusion during the filming process. Planning will allow for all the actors to know what they are doing and when to do it. Overall, planning as many advantages and a good plan for our commercial will save us time and money as well as  prevent confusion.

Props- Were going to be using Nike apparel for the commercial. Specifically, we will be using Nike shoes, Nike shorts, a Nike shirt, and a Nike backpack.

Costumes- The costumes for the commercial will nothing intentional except for the Nike apparel. As this commercial is focused on education and taking place at our school, actors will be wearing day to day wear and the Nike apparel. For example, the actor wearing the Nike shorts will wear a non-branded shirt as well as shoes. The same goes for the person wearing the Nike shirt, they will try and wear other non branded clothing.

Schedule-
10/7- We decided the topic for our commercial. This ended up being a Nike commercial, focused on how their apparel is worn at school. We researched about the brand as well as how other Nike commercials were portrayed and filmed. We also blogged about the process.

10/10- Were planning our commercial today. We will discuss how planning will help us in the long run as well as the props well use, costumes well wear, our schedule, locations, and a backup plan. We will also blog about the process (this blog).

10/14- On this day we'll storyboard. Were going to map out the steps we're going to take to produce the scenes. This will save time, money and prevent confusion during the filing process.

10/21- On this day we will film the commercial. The plan is to stick to the storyboard in order to complete the filming and to move on to the editing process. A person will be filming an actor wearing apparel while the others direct the actor to what they have to do. We will also post an individual blog going over what we did.

10/23- On this day we’re going to edit our commercial. We will put all the footage we have into Premiere Pro and edit.

Locations-
Nike Shoes- On school track
Nike Backpack- Going up the media center stairs.
Nike Shorts- The patio outside of the media center aka the “Crop Circles”
Nike Shirt- Outside of Cafeteria

Backup Plan- It is important to have a backup plan for filming process because we only have on day to film. As such, every location that’s outside and could have exposure to rain will be moved to a place with an overhang. For example, the track scene with the Nike shoes, will be moved to the bus loop as if they were jogging out to practice. We want to keep the idea of excessive associated with our commercial. Also, the cafeteria scene would be moved to the senior patio because we want to keep the idea of school and social interaction in the scene. Lastly, if one of our actors is absent and doesn't have the prop with them, we will find someone who in our media studies class with a piece of Nike apparel on to fill the scene.

Research conventions and codes

Today is October 7th, 2019 and today we had to decide the topic for our commercial. The commercial is one of our first projects of the school year and there is a lot criteria we have to meet. For example the commercial has to be 25-30 seconds long, the typical length of an ordinary commercial. Additionally, we learned the commercial would be due October 28th at 11:59pm and emailed to our class email. Lastly we had to pick from a certain set of topics including Nike, Starbucks, Dublin Donuts, etc. Other forms of topics included anti vaping commercials for the county or commercials for our school such as the programs offered there. After much deliberation, our group decided to do a commercial on Nike. We wanted to include various clothing items that kids wear in their day to day school lives.

As previously stated, our group choose to create a Nike commercial for our first project. However this didn’t go without much debate. A pro to doing a Nike commercial is it’s a company everyone is familiarized with. Nike being such a large company, everyone in this day and age has hard of them company and likely has a price of apparel from them. Leading into my next point, props will be easy to find for the commercial. Asking around our group, we found that everyone had at least one piece of Nike apparel they could model for the commercial. Lastly, the group as a whole liked the brand image Nike presents. Nike supports education, equality, youth athletics and other various topics through the selling of their apparel.

Fairly early on in class we had made the division to do Nike as our commercial, so we had extra time to begin planning our commercial. First of all, we researched current Nike commercials and developed an understanding of how they were filmed or produced. Secondly, the group created an idea for how to film the commercial which is to film individual pieces of apparel. The first clip would be someone walking with Nike shoes. The second clip would be someone walking with Nike shorts or pants. The third clip would be someone walking with a Nike shirt. The fourth clip would be someone walking with a Nike backpack. Finally, the last clip would be us  all walking together with the Nike apparel which would then fade to a Nike logo and a closing statement. After creating a brief idea, we then assigned each individual with finding the Nike price they would be wearing.

Introductory

My name is Ashley. I am 17 years old and I attend school in South Florida. I have always been interested in the arts. From the beginning, I was always holding a paper and pencil in my hand and my passion to draw continued on with me ever since. As I grew older however, I became able to appreciate and interest in other aspects of art such as fashion, photography, film, and music. My passage after high school as of currently is unclear as there is many industries and interests to explore, but I will most likely search in places that allow for me to have a creative outlet. I was never one for overachieving academically. I of course did my best and got good or decent grades, but my mind was always focused on my own creative hobbies outside of school. In my free time I now enjoy photography and editing and creating many various outcomes. I enjoy being able to experiment with regular images and bringing them to life with simple tools and apps. As the person I am, this class has me excited to film projects so I can take control of all the aspects as if I was a real film director.

However, I do not like when only one person has control and say in a project so I will definitely choose to work with considerate and motivated partners. I will also have the support of my very cooperative and enjoyable friends to also assist me on my future assignments. The things I don't enjoy are things that are probably common and consistent with others as well. Probably characteristics such as bad attitudes, negativity and immature. I however always find my way around peoples flaws and try to cooperate with them no matter what, because someones "flaws" can always somehow be put to good use. I also enjoy working with those who are different from me so I can learn from them and improve upon myself, in turn creating better work.

So far, Aice media has been a refreshing class. The content we've taken on so far has definitely sparked my interest in film. We have looked into different kinds of camera angles, sounds and other aspects that go into film making. It has followed me home from school and onto my life outside of school. Now when I watch movies I no longer just see a story, but rather the bigger picture. I can't help myself but to analyze scenes and how something as small as a particular camera angle can affect the outcome of a scene greatly. What I think I find most interesting about film making is how many different industries and skills come together to make one film. There are people who contribute to each tiny little piece of one big whole. I am just able to appreciate the amount communication and teamwork that goes into film making because it is not always easy working with people who may have different opinions as you, but if you want to produce a great film you will always overlook your differences and challenges by working your hardest.
